Tony aka Nomad…

Biking is in my blood - I was introduced to bikes from an early age by my father who like most “Lads” in the 50's/60's relied on bikes as their only means of transport and the image it portrayed (Rock 'n' Roll).

After joining the Royal Marines in 1974 and completing my first draft to 41 Cdo I purchased my first bike, a Green Honda CB250G for £360 off a mate, I fell off within 100 yards, I was distracted by a pigeon, my first crash… I went on to complete a Royal Marines Despatch Riders course in 1978 in Poole Dorset, passing my test and learning a great deal about riding bikes on and off road (On Bovington Tank Ranges again).

Since then I have only been bike-less for approx 5 years when the kids arrived, but soon found that I had to have one to keep me sane. The sense of freedom, the open roads, the fresh air, and the challenge of riding distances and battling the weather are all part of the thrill.

In August 1990 I toured France, Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Lichtenstein and Monaco in 10 days two up with camping equipment on an E Reg BMW K100RS, and have never looked back.

I toured Southern India on a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 for charity in 2004, and rode to Turkey and Back with Wendy as Pillion in 2006.

In 2007 we gave up the Rat-Race liquidated and moved over to the Central Massif with the purpose to create the Perfect Bikers Exclusive B&B and enjoy our life as you never know what is around the corner.
